why back to skepbeekeeping
There is no better home for a bee coloni than a skep, made of straw. The strawskep is warm, and when not used anymore, that might be after 100 years or more, it is 100% biodegredable. Bees like living in skeps more than in polystyrol or wooden boxes.

Personnaly I like the work with bees in skeps more. Even in the so biological like top bar hive, bees cannot be inspected with less disturbance of the colonie than in a skep. The skep is the only beehouse on which one can watch the colonie as an organisme.
